Two new senior appointments
HERON is pleased to announce two new senior appointments.

Emma Medin - Consultant
Emma is a Medical Doctor with 3 years of clinical experience and a Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery from Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. Emma has also obtained a Master of Science in Economics from Stockholm University, Sweden and a Master Degree in Health Economics from Karolinska Institutet and is completing her final research for her Phd in Health Economics. She has completed medical training in Paris, London and New York.
As Consultant, Emma will be leading a team of analysts in conducting client projects across the full range of HERON's services.
Alessandra Vanoli BSc MSc - Technical Lead (Economic Evaluation)
Alessandra has over fifteen years experience of working within Health Economics, experienced in both primary and secondary research completing systematic literature reviews, critical appraisals and economic evaluations. Whilst with the University of Newcastle she was the lead Health Economist and managed the Administration and Data Support Team across a number projects. At the University of York, she established and trained a team of 25 freelance Health Economists. Alessandra headed the development of the CRD NHS Economic Evaluation Database, developing a template which continues to be used across the sector for the systematic review of secondary data. She has published widely including articles in The Lancet, Health Technology Assessment and Diabetes International. Alessandra retains a honorary Research Affiliateship at University of Northumbria.
As HERON's Technical Lead for economic evaluation, Alessandra will be bringing her specialist experience in this service area to clients across HERON's project teams.
