Heron mulls another KPO in Chandigarh by Sept
Having opened its Chandigarh office in September, Heron Health, a subsidiary of the UK-based Heron Evidence Development, is planning to double its employees from the present 30 to 60 by the year-end. The company also owns US-based Heron Evidence Development. A knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) company, Heron Health is engaged with work relating to reviews and 60% of the work is currently being done here, says Heron Health country head Manek Shergill.
Talking to ET here on Wednesday, Mr Shergill said the company’s core business is in the field of health economics, outcomes research and reimbursement.
Christopher John Knight, director in the UK holding company said that Chandigarh is a fantastic city for business, with several world class pharmacy institutions with abundant talent pool.
Mr Knight said Heron, which is serving the US and European Union markets has major plans to scale up operations here.
Mr Shergill added that Heron was planning to set up another KPO having a web delivery system to be located in Chandigarh in 7 to 8 months. That project will have 300 employees in three years from inception.
He said the current investment in the Indian operation is £1 lakh funded through internal accruals.
Mr Knight said in 2007, around 65% of Heron’s full-time equivalent (FTE) resource was dedicated to data-analytics. Worldwide, Heron has a functional analytical resource of 800 FTE per month. Heron conducts and completes over 30 data-driven projects per year.
